Drones… Selfie Drones, Video shooting Drones, Package-Carrying Drones, and other styles that can fulfill any tech savvy’s curiosity; are the dominant subject of interest in online searches and social discussions.
The whole story of drones began in 1916 when the US Navy developed a prototype for an unmanned aerial bomb. Their first attempts proved excessively heavy and somewhat ineffective.
In 1973, a model airplane enthusiast by the name of John Stuart Foster Jr. drew up designs for a more practical and streamlined version. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency worked with Foster to produce the drones we have today. They have become a controversial symbol of modern warfare.
One of the most in demand drones now is the selfie drone. This new trend has brought to you a new practical word which is “Dronies”.
The first type of selfie drones is the EACHINE E50 WIFI FPV Quadcopter. It is considered to be the most affordable selfie drone on the market;
This selfie drone is a portable folding quadcopter. Its flight time is about 8 to 15 minutes, the video quality is 720P, its range is 40m and its charging time is 120 minutes. Its size is 13.5cm X 6.5cm X 2.5cm (folded arms) and battery 3.7 V500mAh 20c. It does not have GPS or optical sensors.
The second type of selfie drones is the DJI Mavic Pro. It is the first foldable drone from DJI.
The Mavic can take single shots and burst shooting at 3/5/7 frames. It has a remote controller which is entirely foldable. The controller and video transmission can operate effectively up to a maximum distance of 4.3 miles from the drone.
Its flight time is 27 minutes, the video quality is up to C4k (HD, UHD, 4K, C4K), the photo quality is 12.7 MP and its range is about 8 miles (13km). The charging time is 70 minutes, its size is around 83mm X 83 mm X 198mm (folded) and battery is 3830 mAh 11.4V 43.6 Wh (LiPo3S). It has a US GPS and Russian GLONASS Satellites and it has 5 Vision Position Sensors.
Its flight time is about 9 minutes, the video quality is 1080P, the photo quality is HD Standard 4K resolution and its range is about 100m, and It has 9GB of storage.

The fourth type of selfie drones is the JJRC Pocket Selfie Quadcopter.
It has almost the exact same features as the EACHINE E50 Drone except that it needs around 45 minutes to be fully charged. It is also called the “Elfie”. The Quadcopter has LED lights on either side of the camera for low-light conditions.
The AirDog is built to record selfie videos of action sports such as bicycle riding, surfing, windsurfing, etc.
It is equipped with AirLeash—this feature along with the smart calculations done by AirDog, enables this selfie device to predict the user’s moves.
It has a foldable body and after some studies, the AirDog is a member of a different league other than the selfie drones.
This selfie device receives commands from its own tracker rather than the smartphone.
It weighs about 1980 grams and its speed is around 42mph. its range is approximately 250m.
It has an interchangeable 14.8 V 5600mAh, LiPo battery. It has a high capacity up to 20 minutes flight time and a protective casing for safety and easy interchanging.
